What’s in the box
The first thing you notice, are two HUGE tyres! Despite seeing many pictures of it built, it’s still a shock to see the sheer size of the tyres. Along with those, there are 8 paper bags and the manual - NO STICKERS.
Build experience
I have to admit it, I thoroughly enjoyed the build. Unfortunately, I was not very well when I started it, and after the 2nd bag, i took a few days off to recover. Some of the techniques used on the build, i have not seen before and although it’s not a long drawn out build, it is very satisfying to see it come together.
Design & accuracy
With nothing else like it in the Lego back catalogue, they couldn’t really go wrong - but they have done (In my opinion) a cracking job (Although you wouldn’t catch me on that saddle!)
There are a few parts that were new to me, and also some that are unique to this set. Aside from the obvious wheels & tyres, there are some parts that I wonder how else they could be used?? The water bottle top for a start..?
Any drawbacks?
Hmmm - well, clearly it’s a display piece - a mighty impressive one at that.. however, that is all it is.
Also, the lack of licensing has kept the cost low, but at the expense of realism. Obviously the custom decal makers will no doubt make some, but I feel even a couple of ‘faux’ brands would enhance its plain looks.

- Price - for its size, its a bargain
- Some great build techniques
- Impressive display piece
- New ‘Clutch’ gear will be useful for Technic lovers
Cons
- Quite a quick build
- Lack of decals or printed parts
- Lack of playability
- Cannot see scope for alternate builds
Display value
It really does have the WOW factor - nothing else I’ve seen gives quite so much bang for your buck..
Obviously, it’ll stay pristine & dust free if you display it in Boxxco’s display case!!
Final Verdict
For £110 (or less with discounts), it’s a bargain. Ok, so it lacks any future entertainment of alternates & has no playability, but the experience for me outweighs those issues.
